Fitness-Friendly Tech Gadgets
With it being the new year, we all have our New Year’s resolutions. Whether it’s losing weight or teaching yourself how to use that new smartphone, we’ve got you covered. Here are just a few new gadgets to aid you along the way on your fitness journey, or even just to help you improve your overall lifestyle.
1. Wireless bluetooth headphones
While Apple’s Airpods have grown in popularity recently, it’s important to keep other options in mind so you can determine what brand would work best for you. Airpods retail for $159, which isn’t the most affordable solution for those of us looking for an effective product that won’t break the bank, especially right after the holidays. Luckily, there are alternative options on the market available through many retailers, such as Amazon and Target. For example, here’s another pair of wireless bluetooth headphones that retail for $45.99 from the brand ENACFIRE.
Regardless of your choice, bluetooth headphones can be a great addition to your workout routine. It allows you to listen to your favorite TV show while you’re working hard on that elliptical without the hassle of getting tangled in a mess of chords. Some options even come with a portable charging case, which makes it easy to take them wherever you go.
2. Fitbit watch
Fitbits have been a widely used product for a long time. These watches can track how many steps you take in a day, set an activity goal, send you reminders to move around, and so much more. The price range ranges quite a bit, depending on what you need your watch to do for you. Some models are waterproof and have screens, while others just provide basic information to allow for a lower price point. Fitbit has many different options, but we’ve seen options as low as $50, all the way up to $200. Either way, Fitbits and activity tracking watches in general are a great way for you to stay on top of your fitness goals this year.
To make it even more fun, Fitbit also allows you to have friends on their app, where you can participate in challenges and see how many steps those friends have. Even if competition isn’t a motivator for you, you’ll have a great time achieving the goals the app has set for you!

3. Wahoo heart rate monitor
Another great addition to your workout routine may be a heart rate monitor. Wahoo makes a few great options, available both as arm and chest bands, that allows you to watch your heart activity while you work out. Not only is it ideal to know how your heart is doing while you’re working out, but the Wahoo app even tells you at what point you’re burning the most calories, how many calories you’ve burned, along with a lot more helpful information. When you’re done, the app gives you an analytic report of what you did.
Wahoo’s app is compatible with both Androids and iPhones, so you don’t need to worry about compatibility with your smartphone. Multiple models are available for this product, too, so be sure to check out their website here to see which one fits your needs!
4. Camelbak hydration packs
This one isn’t tech related, but I’ll be the first to admit how helpful it is. This Camelbak backpack allows you to wear it and drink while you’re working out! That means you don’t need to stop running and fumble around for your water bottle, which ends up slowing you down. It’s a convenient and lightweight way to stay hydrated. Their hydration packs buckle across your chest so it stays secure while you move around, too.
